Dystonia Diary

This is what it's like to have cervical dystonia - the good, the bad, and the ugly. Actually, there's nothing good about it.

From the library...

I've been offline for a long time thanks to our stupid (former) cable tv/internet provider.

I got 17 Botox shots Tuesday morning, and spent the day feeling like I was beaten with a mallet. Oh well, it was worth it. Now I get to play Goldilocks - did he use too little (it'll wear off too soon & I'll have to wait 4 months), did he use too much (my head will droop & make it difficult for me to work), or did he use just the right amount (I'll be virtually pain-free, fully functional, and almost normal looking for almost 4 months). I hate the wait. I may or may not have trouble swallowing. Hopefully not! I also hope we'll be back online soon, because anyone can click on "history" to see what the previous users were up to. Not good! If I can sit here until "computer use time" is over, I'll have it made.

Good to see you back. I have anjoyed reading your blog. I sure hope this round of Botox works ideally for you. Dystonia is a difficult opponent, but it sounds like you are in the game. Hang in there and know that you are not alone. Hugs, Jen
